Ajay Devgn not doing cameo in Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol’s ‘Dilwale’

Actor Ajay Devgn has denied reports that he will do a cameo in Rohit Shetty’s upcoming highly anticipated film ‘Dilwale’, starring his wife Kajol and Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan.

Rumours around Ajay’s cameo in the film began doing the rounds when the 46-year-old was photographed having dinner with SRK and his wife earlier this month in Bulgaria, where the film’s shooting is in production.

Talking to IANS about it here, Ajay said: “That’s not true. Its just a rumour. No I’m not doing a cameo in ‘Dilwale’. It was a coincidence that when I was there, at the same time they were shooting in Bulgaria. I went there for the location of ‘Shivaay’ and then saw Shah Rukh and the team there.”

Ajay was in the capital on Tuesday for the promotions of ‘Drishyam’, his forthcoming thriller drama, which is releasing on Friday.

Ajay and Rohit have together made hit films like the ‘Golmaal’ and ‘Singham’ series, ‘All The Best: Fun Begins’ and ‘Bol Bachchan’.

Asked about his return to a Rohit Shetty film, Ajay said: “It all depends on the script. If the script would be right, I would love to work with anybody. Right now I have ‘Drishyam’ and after this ‘Shivaay’ and ‘Badshaho’.”

Directed by Nishikant Kamat, ‘Drishyam’, which is an official remake of the Malayalam film of the same name, also stars Tabu, Shriya Saran and Rajat Kapoor. The film will release on Friday.

Model-turned-marathon runner Milind Soman, who just completed one of the world’s toughest triathlon “Ironman”, credits his mother for inspiring him to take up sports seriously.

“I give credit to my mom for inspiring and encouraging me to take sports seriously. She was a professor of bio-chemistry and at the age of 60 when she retired she started trekking.

“Today, she is 76 and participates in a 100 kilometre trek. She does that every year and has inspired my sisters to join her. They all are above 50,” Milind told PTI.

The ramp star hails from a family of doctors and professors. As a child he was asked to leave sports and concentrate more on studies, but his mother always supported his involvement with athletics.

“The kind of encouragement I had as a child to continue sports was brilliant. Like any other family, my people asked me to stress more on studies rather than swimming. But, my mother said ‘He enjoys it and should balance both studies and sports’. Those 13 years of my life played such an important role in shaping my life and mind.”

The supermodel, who was in the Capital to announce the third edition of SBI Pinkathon, said he has never gone to a gym to stay fit. He feels it is important to motivate the woman of the house to take part in events like marathon.

“It is unfortunate that as a country we don’t have this culture of promoting health and sports. I feel if women understand the value of sports like my mother did, than children will be encouraged to create that balance between sports and academics,” he said.

The “16 December” actor, who will be turning 50 this year, wanted to do something remarkable on his 50th birthday and that is when he decided to take up the Ironman triathlon challenge.

“I am turning 50 this year and wanted to do something special to make this year memorable. I was never interested in triathlon as I don’t like cycling but when I read about it I found it interesting and felt it would be a different experience to train for this.”

Milind said he decided to promote an all women Marathon as he wanted to create awareness about women’s health and breast cancer.

“I want women to inspire their family. Women don’t take care of themselves. They don’t discuss about their health issues with anyone. We wanted to create a platform where women can come even in a saree or salwar kameez and run for their health without any inhibitions.”

The third edition of Pinkathon is scheduled to take place in Delhi on September 6.

Actor Pulkit Samrat, who is married to Salman Khan’s rakhi sister Shweta Rohira, says the superstar’s tweets on 1993 Mumbai blast convict Yakub Memon were “misinterpreted” by people.

The “Bajrangi Bhaijaan” star posted a series of tweets on Sunday suggesting Yakub is innocent and should not be hanged for the acts of his brother Tiger Memon but later Salman retracted them.

“He made his stand very clear when people started thinking otherwise.. He was misinterpreted for whatever he wrote… And I think at that moment when people are not understanding what a person is saying, it’s always good to retract your statement and I think that’s what he did,” he told PTI.

Pulkit, who shared screen space with Salman in “Jai Ho”, said the star did not write anything against the judicial system of our country.

“But he (Salman) made it very clear that this is what he meant and it wasn’t about being against the judiciary because he has faith in the system.

“I think what he meant was that if somebody else was getting hanged for the sin done by somebody else, give him an another trial and listen to his plea and just make sure you are not hanging an innocent,” he added.

Pulkit will be next seen in upcoming comedy satire “Bangistan”, opposite Riteish Deshmukh.

Followed Neeraj Ghaywan’s vision in ‘Masaan': Vicky Kaushal
Vicky Kaushal, Vicky Kaushal Masaan, Vicky Kaushal in Masaan, Vicky Kaushal Cannes, Vicky Kaushal Masaan Movie, Vicky Kaushal Neeraj ghaywan, Neeraj Ghaywan, Masaan, Entertainment news Vicky Kaushal played the role of a 24-year-old civil engineering student, Deepak, who belongs to the Dom community in the movie.

He is being hailed as the new discovery thanks to his powerful debut in Neeraj Ghaywan’s critically-acclaimed “Masaan” but for Punjabi boy Vicky Kaushal it was challenging to transform himself into a Banarasi lad.

He played the role of a 24-year-old civil engineering student, Deepak, who belongs to the Dom community in the movie. Deepak falls in love with a girl from upper caste.

Vicky said his homework included spending time with the movie’s director.

“When I got the part, I sat with Neeraj for days and heard him out because he was the one who had lived with the story from day one. I wanted to know his vision about the character. I told him, ‘I am not from UP. I am not from the space of ‘Masaan’ and I would have to spend a lot of time there to know the role’,” Vicky told PTI in an interview.

He also stayed at the Manikarnika ghat to understand the people, whose lives revolves around cremating dead bodies.

“I went to Benaras a month before the shoot and I stayed there for a week and spent days at the Manikarnika Ghat. I spent time with locals, trying to get their language and psyche right.”

Bringing out the contrast between aspirations of a new life and the present that was surrounded by death, was not easy for Vicky and he used to look for Neeraj’s assurance every day of the shoot.

“Some locals were open to me, some were not. A kid there quits school in 5th or 6th grade and joins the business. And I was supposed play someone, who does this job of burning dead bodies sincerely despite studying civil engineering.

“He doesn’t do that as a rebel. He is just a guy who has been around death since birth. But he has got ambition in his eyes and love in his heart. It was challenging and we took it day by day and scene by scene. I used to constantly ask Neeraj if I was on the right track,” said the actor.

Vicky, however, was not bothered about the fact that he replaced National Award-winning actor Rajkummar Rao in the film.

“There was no nervousness about that. I was asked to give audition. I knew about the film because Neeraj and I had discussed it. I did two scenes from the film in the auditions and left it to them.

“Replacing Rajkummar never bothered me. I just did what I was asked to do. At the end of the day, I just had to play a part. I thought about it and gave my 100 per cent.”

The actor feels lucky to have made his debut with a story-oriented film but is also aware that he might get typecast as a “serious cinema” performer.

Not interested in different brackets of cinema — commercial and non conventional — Vicky wants to do films only on the basis of the story and character.

“I might get pigeonholed in that cinematic frame. If and when that happens, I will decide if I have to change my path… The other film I am doing is commercial in nature. But I wouldn’t want to plan my career according to that because the audience is changing and I believe cinema is writer and director’s medium.

“So, if the story and my character excite me, that’s the cinema I would like to do especially when I am growing. I don’t know what kind of an actor I am. If tomorrow I do a film like ‘Singham’ I might discover a new side to me,” he said.

Vicky’s next is “Zubaan” opposite Sarah Jane Dias. Produced by makers of “The Lunchbox”, it is a coming-of-age story of a boy, played by Vicky.

Amitabh Bachchan nostalgic about ‘Abhimaan’
Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Amitabh jaya, Amitabh Jaya Bachchan, Amitabh Jaya abhimaan, Amitabh Bachchan Abhimaan, Amitabh Bachchan Piku, Amitabh Bachchan Piku, Amitabh Bachchan Movies, Big B, Abhimaan, Entertainment news Amitabh Bachchan went down memory lane to reminisce about the film, which narrates the tale of how a couple drifts apart due to ambitions and ego hassles.

As “Abhimaan” completed 42 years since its release, megastar Amitabh Bachchan went down memory lane to reminisce about the film, which narrates the tale of how a couple drifts apart due to ambitions and ego hassles.

The actor feels it’s not only the striking storyline about the dark side of stardom, but its endearing music that injects an eternal quality to the 1973 film, which also stars his wife and actress Jaya.

“There is the completion of several years of ‘Abhimaan’, a most poignant film with some of the most haunting music by the maestro and genius S.D. Burman, the father of R.D. Burman…and the most delicate handling by Hrishi Da, Hrishikesh Mukherjee, the director with whom I have worked in the maximum films of my career,” Big B posted on his blog.

King of the masses, controversy’s child

To the masses, he is the bhai, the saviour, the hero and the Robin Hood Pandey. To the critics, he is the blackbuck killing, hit and run drunken driver who escaped prison term because he had all the money and power - the epitome of a spoilt brat. The quintessential poster boy of all things good and bad, Salman Khan, can’t have enough of controversy. Just as he was riding high post the Eid release of his super hit film, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Khan raked up a storm late Sunday night by tweeting against Yakub Memon’s hanging and stating that his brother, Tiger Memon should be hanged instead.

His tweet, “Brother is being hanged for tiger. Aarree whr is tiger?” and “Get tiger hang him. Parade him not his brother,” were among a whole series of tweets, which all said the same thing – hang Tiger, spare Yakub. But such was the backlash he faced, with even his father, Salim Khan, calling his comments ignorant and saying that he should focus on his films instead, that Salman Khan retracted his comments and apologised unconditionally for them.

But, controversy is nothing new for Bollywood’s bad boy and most eligible bachelor. From being implicated for shooting and killing chinkaaras while on a hunting trip with his friends and fellow actors of the movie Hum Saath Saath Hein in 1998, to running over five pavement dwellers, killing one and injuring four others; abusing his former girlfriend Aishwarya Rai, and threatening to kill Vivek Oberoi, who held a frantic press conference stating that he feared for his life, to campaigning for Mahinda Rajapakse during the Sri Lankan presidential elections and earning the wrath of Tamil groups and Sri Lankans, or hobnobbing with politicians like Mulayam Singh Yadav and Akilesh Yadav and dancing at the Saifai Mahotsav in riot hit Muzaffarnagar, Khan has had enough and more of troubles.

However, despite all the controversies, Salman Khan remains the king of the masses. He has been in the industry for the past 27 years, and continues to be one of the most bankable actors in the industry. So what is it that makes Khan so invincible?

It could be his mass following and his larger than life image portrayed on screen. He has the ability to carry an entire film on his shoulders with people flocking into the theatres just because king Khan has acted in the film. There is not much thinking to do while watching Khan’s films – the drama, emotions and his mere presence are enough. All it takes is for him to flex his muscle, give his charming smile and dance to the camera, for the masses to collectively hold their breath. Add in a scene of him topless, and it’s a sure shot formula to get the cash registers ringing.

But, it is not only his reel image that people love. He is a known philanthropist, and for some, their messiah. Post numerous scandals and cases, Salman Khan has gone on to channelise his inner energies for more productive causes. In 2007, he formed the Being Human Charitable Trust, through which, he reaches out to the poor and provides funds for education and treatment costs. The proceeds of the Being Human retail chain and that of his non profit production house, Being Filmy, go towards various charitable causes. He also plays the good samaritan and helps  his friends and members of the film fraternity, whenever anyone is in need.

He may have mellowed down after all these years - after all he is nearly 50, or he may land himself in another controversy soon. Whatever be the case, one thing is for sure - box office wise, very little seems to hurt the super star.

After Salman Khan, Sidharth Malhotra To Visit Pakistan?

businessofcinema-yahoopartner:

Young actor, Sidharth Malhotra is having a great time shooting for his film, Kapoor & Sons with Alia Bhatt and Pakistani actor Fawad Khan. On sets, the two often talk about the places and the culture in India as well as Pakistan.

While Fawad has seen India to an extent while shooting & promoting his earlier films, Sidharth has only heard and seen pictures of Pakistan.

Fawad has spoken to him extensively about the places in Pakistan, their culture etc. So much so, that Sidharth wants to visit his co-star’s country whenever possible. The actor is currently in the midst of promoting his upcoming next film, Brothers and also shooting for his film Kapoor & Sons.

Sidharth confirms and adds “I would really like to visit Pakistan. There is so much I have got to know about the place through Fawad. I am hoping to make the trip sometime soon.”

Dabangg Khan who felt the people are using his film Bajrangi Bhaijaan for the political game said that his both the films( Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Ek Tha Tiger) have showed India and Pakistan in good limelight and that he would never hurt or disrespect anyone’s sentiments.

Resolving the wrong mindset of the people, Salman Khan stated that he wants to visit Pakistan to make a strategy and allow their actors to visit India without being judged. Well, Kudos to Salman Khan and his inspirations to solve the wrong rifts created due to his film Bajrangi Bhaijaan.

Steve Jobs: The Man In The Machine Trailer: Reveals Unflattering Dark Side Of Apple CEO

businessofcinema-yahoopartner:

The trailer of Steve Jobs: The Main in the Machinee, the documentary film releasing this year on Apple’s CEO Steve Jobs by Oscar winner documentary director Alex Gibney is here and it throws some light on the darker corners and unasked questions.

Steve Jobs: The Man in the Machine is a documentary and shouldn’t be confused with Hollywood director Danny Boyle’s upcoming film on Steve Jobs’ life starring Michael Fassbender, Kate Winslet and Seth Rogen, which is also set to release this year. Steve Jobs: The Man in the Machine is a full length documentary made by joining small pieces, footage, interviews of Steve Jobs and his close co-workers, which shows Steve’s unflattering and dark side. The trailer of the documentary film has already given us satisfying glimpses and proved that this is not going to be any other film about the great icon, who isn’t among us anymore. This is not some other story depicting a great man’s great struggle to glory. The documentary film will take us through the life and aftermath of the brilliant and visionary man Steve Jobs, who at times was so caught up with his passion of creating something big that he failed to care about emotions or other aspects in life.

The film’s trailer shows us the footage from Steve’s life, how he started, his journey and creation of Apple. Apart from footage and interviews of Steve Jobs, the trailer also features his co-workers and their side of the story as they reveal some hidden facts about Steve, which shapes an unflattering and unflinching dark side of Steve Jobs. The story starts to build up as we hear Belleville say in the trailer, “The work was intense, the commitment needed to do it was intense. I lost my wife, I lost my children.” He goes further on and points out that only Steve Jobs could have done what he did it. “He was not that much fun most of the time, but there are those moments when suddenly he’s the only person who could have ever done it,” we hear one of the ex- employees of Apple, Belleville say.

The trailer of the film portrays Steve Jobs passion for Apple and his never giving up attitude to create something bigger and better. Steve Jobs: The Man in the Machine’s trailer is evocative. The critically examined 2-hour long documentary film by director Alex Gibney on Steve Jobs hits the theatres on September 4, 2015 in USA.

Very few Bollywood actress have worked with Salman Khan and also considering that very few of them have got the opportunity to work with him. Not just with Salman Khan, it’s a rare opportunity that one can get to work with three Khans of Bollywood, Salman, Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir.

Talking about versatile actress Kareena Kapoor Khan, the actress is lucky enough to work with all the three Khans. Bebo has shared the screen space with SRK in films ‘Ra.One, ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham’ and many more while with Aamir Khan in 3 Idiots and Talaash.

Our former President of India passes away suddenly .. was delivering a lecture at an IIM, in Shillong and collapsed .. sudden end to an iconic figure .. the brain behind the phenomenal presence of India in Science, missile technology and several other achievements connected with Space Research and putting India on the world map in these facilities. A simple man, of childlike demeanour, practical, caring and endearing to all .. my only achievement of contact with him - a telephone conversation just before he was announced to be the next President of India !!

India is grieved ..

In such moments of grief it becomes difficult to indulge in what we would term as a routine and normal communication through this medium. But, we remember him in prayer and in our condolences to his near and dear ones ..

There is the completion of several years of ‘Abhimaan’ , a most poignant film with some of the most haunting music by the maestro and genius SD Burman, the Father of RD Burman .. and the most delicate handling by Hrishi Da, Hrishikesh Mukherjee, the director with whom I have worked in the maximum films of my career .. and one whom Jaya and I referred to our GodFather in the Industry - he being the first person after our parents that we informed of our decision to get married .. him and KA Abbas, who gave me my first break into the film Industry ..

Abhimaan .. the wonderful moments spent during the making of this everlasting story and film. It was made under the understanding of AMIYA, a production house both Jaya and I set up very early in our career .. a production which we gave over to our respective secretaries to run .. who then took claim over it and which has remained that way till date .. sad .. but that has been the results of many creative inputs of artists never getting any rights for the future, in ventures where they have made the contribution but never been given commercial right ..!

We were young illiterate and not having sufficient knowledge. We were interested in the creative opportunity more than the aspects of commerce and its longevity. We were too naive. But no need for regret. God has been kind. We make mistakes so we can learn never to go the same route again, and prosper by knowing the corrected route .. we would never have known a mistake otherwise …

There are moments in the journey of life of individuals, when one realises that they have spent almost all their time on Earth without certain basic knowledge of where what and how. For those, that it occurs early, may they be blessed, for they are wise and well informed and conscious of facts. For those that do not and have only just realised, be in virtue of blessings, for there is still sufficient time. It is never too late to know, to inquire, to seek, to accept absence of basic fact, to admit ignorance. It used to earlier. Not any more. There is no bravado in the calling of not knowing what the rest of the world would consider known knowledge. There is also no embarrassment in its seeking. The young may consider this so, not one who has passed his or her prime. Others may believe that all is known by a particular individual, but the facts may be different. No harm in its admittance. Truth hurts but never hurts too !

image

It is good to know when you are faced with your own image the truth that stares back. That early morning face in the mirror is the reality, all else is make belief - at times good but mostly not so good ..

But despairing .. would never bring about reality. Despair is accommodated well in truthful fact. Indeed it is the only recourse to freedom, a freedom from what one would divulge in multiple non facts, to maintain an untruthful fact !

Lie once and you shall continue to lie a million times in order to save that lie. Say truth once and it is over .. mind body all ..

Good night and in love …

King of the masses, controversy’s child

King of the masses, controversy’s childThe quintessential poster boy of all things good and bad, Salman Khan, can’t have enough of controversy. Just as he was riding high post the Eid release of his super hit film, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Khan raked up a storm late Sunday night by tweeting against Yakub Memon’s hanging and stating that his brother, Tiger Memon should be hanged instead. Parade him not his brother,” were among a whole series of tweets, which all said the same thing – hang Tiger, spare Yakub.

Supreme Court puts off last-minute decision on Yakub Memon

A television journalist sets his camera inside the premises of the Supreme Court in New DelhiThe Supreme Court has put off by a day a decision on whether to stay the execution of the only person sentenced to death for India's deadliest bomb attack, meaning the convict will learn his fate just hours before he is due to be hanged on Thursday. Yakub Memon was convicted as the "driving spirit" behind blasts in Mumbai in 1993 that killed at least 257 people, but his case has divided opinion in India, with several eminent figures saying the sentence is too harsh. Police consider Memon's brother, "Tiger" Memon, and mafia don Dawood Ibrahim to be the main masterminds behind the attack, carried out to avenge the destruction of Babri mosque by Hindu zealots in 1992.
