By Karen Brooks KILLEEN Texas (Reuters) - Matthew McConaughey's upcoming film about a journey beyond the stars may as well be about the Texas actor's own stratospheric career these days. From winning his best actor Oscar in March for "Dallas Buyers Club" to his lead role in the highly anticipated space-exploration drama "Interstellar," set to become one of the year's biggest movies, McConaughey has rocketed to a level of stardom unlike anything he said he has ever experienced before. McConaughey, 44, takes the lead in "Interstellar," out in theaters on Nov. 7, the latest film by "Dark Knight" director Christopher Nolan that McConaughey called "as enormous as anything that's been put on the screen." The search of Cliff Richard's house by police investigating allegations of child sex crimes, which was broadcast live on television, was "inept" and caused "irreparable damage" to the British singer's reputation, lawmakers said on Friday. Officers raided the home of Richard, 74, one of Britain's best-known entertainers, in August, with the search carried out in the glare of BBC cameras after the broadcaster was given advance warning. Richard has denied any wrongdoing over the allegations, which date back to the 1980s and involve an underage boy. "South Yorkshire Police's handling of this situation was utterly inept," said the committee's chairman Keith Vaz.

By Andrew Chung NEW YORK (Reuters) - A New York federal judge on Thursday barred embattled video streaming company Aereo from transmitting the programs of television broadcasters as they are being shown, blocking its bid to operate like a traditional cable system. The ruling was another win for major broadcasters, whose copyrights the U.S Supreme Court in June said Aereo violated in retransmitting the programming to subscribers' devices via the Internet. Aereo shuttered its service three days after the high court's decision and has since been pushing the courts and regulators to see it as analogous to cable, eligible for a license under the Copyright Act. "Doing its best to turn lemons into lemonade, Aereo now seeks to capitalize on the Supreme Court's comparison of it to a (cable) system," U.S.
